Are We There Yet?!
Issue 58 July 2009
Car rides and aeroplane journeys can be just as exciting as the holiday itself with interesting travel games to keep little ones’ minds off getting bored by being entertained onboard.
The Alphabet Game
Word games are a fun way of reinforcing classroom learning. You can play this one with as little as two people to very large groups. The first person has to name an animal, a vegetable or a city name for instance beginning with the letter A. The next person then names an animal beginning with the letter B, and so on. If a player can’t think of a name, then they’re out of the game. The winner is the last person left in the game.
The Name Game
The first person says a name for example ‘Sara’, then the second person must say a name beginning with the last letter of the first name, for instance ‘Amina’. The game continues until someone cannot think of a name and must get out of the game. The winner is the last person in the game.
20 Questions
One person thinks of an animal, a famous person, a film etc, and the others have to guess what or who it is, by asking up to 20 ‘yes’ or ‘no’ questions.
Dots and Blocks
Draw a grid of 10 x 10 dots, and take turns to draw a single line, and join the dots up to make squares. Put your initials in the squares you have created. The winner is the person that has the highest number of squares.
