The back is the workhorse of the human body; it carries the body’s weight and is responsible for practically every move you make, this makes the back susceptible to injury. Frequent computer use can cause back pain if a good posture isn’t kept; good posture is when your bones are aligned in such a way that there is minimal tension on the body. Sitting in the same position for a long period of time slowly takes the elasticity out of the tissues and this causes stress to build up. It is important to stand up and walk around for a few minutes every half an hour to prevent this from happening. If you do suffer from back pain, then light back exercises which involve stretching the back muscles, yoga and water exercises, which help.
Five ways to prevent back pain
1. Keep your head straight and centered above your shoulders
2. Keep your shoulders back
3. Keep your elbow at a 90-degree angle
4. Keep your torso and thigh at a 90-degree angle
5. Keep your thigh and lower leg at a 90-degree angle
